Saved by a Gospel Tract
It was customary for Prem (not his real name) to do house visits for sharing gospel tracts. One day as Prem was not keeping well, he did not go out to do his ministry. On seeing this, his son asked if he could give out the tracts that day. Prem obliged. His son, after asking for directions and the houses to cover that day, grabbed some tracts and set out on his journey. He usually rings the doorbell and hands over the tract to the person answering the door. In one of the houses, although the windows were open no one answered the door after ringing the doorbell. So the young boy slid the tract into the open window and went away. A few days later Prem got a call (Prem’s phone number was written on the tract) from a gentleman who said that he was getting ready to commit suicide. He said that as he was getting ready to end his life, he heard the doorbell ring and then some paper flew into the house. The Lord began working in his heart. As he began to read the tract, he felt something he hadn’t felt before. It was a timely intervention by the young boy to save this man’s life from death. We should never underestimate the power of a gospel tract. Some people do not necessarily need a one hour sermon to get saved; all it takes are a few words on a gospel tract.
